Tavaly az ősz végén zárták le a tamási Nagyboldogasszony katolikus templom területét, miután megkezdődtek a felújítási munkálatok, a csaknem 550 milliós kormányzati támogatásból. Az előkészítő régészeti feltárás során előkerült Győri Mátyás alapító plébános sírhelye is. A templom aljazatát ezután készítették elő a betonozáshoz, az arra járók pedig nap, mint nap láthatják, hogy a templomkertben is folyamatos a munka.
Ma Zalán névnapja van.
