A Mészöly emléknapot megelőzően immár 13. esztendeje rendeznek vers és prózamondó versenyt Szekszárdon. Az idei találkozóre 13 versmondó érkezett egy egy költeménnyel a kisebbek pedig Mészöly egy meséjével. A zsűri és a felkészítők is egyetértettek abban, hogy nagyobb teret kéne szentelni az oktatásban a kortárs irodalomnak és ezen belül is Mészöly munkásságának.
Ma Henrietta névnapja van.
