Még decemberben 83-58-ra nyerte az NKA Pécs a PVSK-Veolia elleni férfi kosárlabda-rangadót az NB I/B-s bajnokságban. A találkozót követően edzőt váltott a PVSK és Juhász Olivér helyére, egy régi ismerős, Szrecsko Szekulovics érkezett. Egy hónap elteltével jött el az idő a visszavágásra, hiszen a Hepp Kupa nyolcaddöntőjében ismét találkozott egymással a két pécsi együttes. Remekül kezdte a mérkőzést a házigazda NKA Pécs, azonban egy pazar második negyedet követően a PVSK-Veolia fordított, így 11 ponttal győzött szrecsko Szekulovics együttese, és ők jutottak tovább a Hepp Kupában. A találkozó végereménye: NKA Pécs – PVSK Veolia: 67-78.
