A háború és a brüsszeli szankciók következményeként az energiaárak sokszorosára emelkedtek. A kormány célja, hogy ebben a helyzetben is a legfontosabb közszolgáltatások működése fennmaradhasson, ezért a Kormány – a korábbi 10 ezer lakos alatti településeknek adott kormányzati támogatás után – most a 10 ezer lakos feletti városok és fővárosi kerületek energiaáremelkedés miatti támogatásáról döntött közel 44 milliárd forint értékben – közölte közleményben a Miniszterelnökség. A legtöbb támogatást, 3 milliárd forintot Debrecen kapott, de a vármegyeszékhelyek közül Pécs is részesült komoly támogatásban.
