Hazánkban a labdarúgás, a kézi- és kosárlabda, esetleg vízilabda népszerű a fiúk körében. Az óvodások még szívesen vesznek részt a játékos foglalkozásokon, ahol a torna sportág alapjait sajátíthatják el, azonban később inkább a népszerű csapat- vagy divatsportágakat választja a fiatalok többsége. Pedig a torna mozgásanyaga jó előképzettséget jelent, bármerre is visz a fiatalok útja. Kevesen tudják, hogy Gera Zoltán labdarúgó is tornával kezdte sportolói pályafutását, ráadásul Pécsett.
Ma Zalán névnapja van.
