Fennállásának 55. évfordulóját ünnepelte a szekszárdi I. Béla Gimnázium. Az intézmény története jól példázza a magyar közoktatás változását, hiszen alapításakor műszaki szakközépiskola, majd technikum lett, csak később alakult át a mai gimnáziummá. Az eseményen egykori és mai diákok közösen ünnepelték az évfordulót.
